Driver Academy

Level 1

Max 6 Drivers

Running from 1 PM to 5 PM, this all-inclusive program is designed to enhance your driving skills both on and off the track. Participants will delve into key areas of driving performance, such as mental focus, fitness training, and nutrition strategies.

Take your driving to the next level with a dynamic mix of hands-on track instruction and cutting-edge simulation techniques. This is your chance to sharpen your abilities and unlock your full potential behind the wheel. With the OTP Toyota 86 provided, you don't need to bring your own car—just bring your passion and drive. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to elevate your driving skills!

Level 2

Max 6 Drivers

Get ready to take your driving skills to the next level with our comprehensive program, running from 8 AM to 5 PM. This academy is designed to enhance your abilities both on and off the track, covering key areas such as cognitive development, fitness routines, and nutritional advice. You’ll also receive a complete MoTeC driver evaluation, including onboard footage, cabin, and foot cam for in-depth analysis.

Boost your driving performance through a unique blend of hands-on track instruction and advanced simulation techniques. This is the perfect opportunity to refine your skills and unlock your full potential behind the wheel. Plus, with the OTP Toyota 86 provided, there’s no need to bring your own car. Families are welcome, too, and will enjoy a special Q&A session with a guest driver, along with morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea in a comfortable corporate suite.

Stephen "Robbo" Robinson

AKA Whisper

With 25 years in the motorsport industry, Stephen "Robbo" Robinson, also known as Whisper, has an extensive background as both a race car driver and a professional driver coach. From 2000 to 2010, Robbo competed as a race car driver before transitioning to coaching in 2010. Since then, he has worked full-time as a professional driver coach.

In 2022, Robbo started OTP and subsequently moved full-time to Queensland Raceway. He has personally trained drivers at all levels, from their first time on the track to competing in supercars.

Oliver Myers

Director & Head Driver Coach Focus Driver

Oliver's racing background is rich with success in both the British and European racing scenes, including multiple British Open Championships and numerous podiums finishes globally.

Recognising that track success hinges on meticulous attention to detail, preparation, and practice, Oliver emphasises the importance of treating racing drivers as elite athletes. With qualifications in mechanical engineering and sporting excellence, he is a certified sports coach dedicated to this holistic approach.

"Failing to prepare is preparing to fail" is a principal Oliver lives by, especially in high-stakes motorsport. He provides his drivers with comprehensive race preparation through a state-of-the-art race simulator, a high-performance gym, and his extensive expertise. This ensures they are well-prepared and ready to excel on race day.

Formula QRDC Academy Program

Welcome to the Formula QRDC Academy! We're excited to announce that the framework for our program is now ready for launch.

Entry Requirements

To ensure a smooth entry process, please provide the following information for each participant regarding their weight and height.

Safety Information

It's crucial to prioritize safety in our program. Please ensure that the following safety apparel requirements are adhered to when registering:

1. Helmet

  • Must comply with circuit racing standards and have HANS posts fitted.
  • Refer to Schedule D of the Motorsport Australia rule book for appropriate helmet specifications.
  • Category A helmets (as outlined in Schedule D) are mandatory.
  • Helmet Standards Allowed:
    • FIA 8859-2015
    • FIA 8860-2010
    • FIA 8860-2018
    • Snell SA2015
    • Snell SA2020

2. HANS Device

  • Must be suitable for a single-seater racing vehicle.

3. Fireproof Racing Suit

  • Must meet the following standards:
    • FIA 8856-2000
    • FIA 8856-2018

4. Additional Recommended Safety Gear

  • Fireproof underwear
  • Gloves
  • Boots

Level 1

Max 2 Drivers

Timetable:

7:30 AM: Arrival and setup

8:00 AM: Sign-in

8:15 AM: Drivers briefing

Group A: On-track (5 laps each in F4 supplied by PACE)

Group B: Focus simulation (10-15 minutes each)

9:30 AM: Groups rotate

10:45 AM: Second session (rotation)

12:00 PM: Focus on cognitive development and fitness sessions

1:00 PM: Wrap up

Level 2

Min 2, Max 2 Drivers

Timetable:

7:30 AM Arrival and setup

8:00 AM OTP and focus drivers briefing

8:30 AM - 1:00 PM: Split into two groups (3 participants each) for sessions:

Group A: On-track with Toyota 86 (Robbo supply)

Group B: Focus on driver performance, including simulator coaching, cognitive development, and fitness training

1:00 PM - 1:45 PM: Lunch (provided by QR, groups rotate)

1:45 PM - 4:45 PM: Second set of sessions, rotating groups
